IOWA CITY – Regina jumped into the Class 2A rankings on Thursday afternoon making its season debut at No. 13 in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released rankings.
On Thursday evening the Regals backed it up.
Regina remained unbeaten on the season with a 25-20, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22 win over West Branch in the River Valley Conference opener for both teams at Regina.
With the win Regina improved to 6-0 on the season and has dropped just one set on the year.
West Branch Fell to 5-4 with its second loss to the Regals in less than a week.
Regina snapped a five-game losing skid to the Bears with a straight set win at the West Branch Tournament last Saturday.
Olivia Wolfe had a match-high 12 kills on Thursday as Regina won its second straight over West Branch.
Sarah Lehman added nine kills and Katrina Chambliss had eight kills for Regina.
Clare Dunn had 19 digs and Grace Swenning had 30 assists for Regina in the win.
Lehman, Katie Dunn and Chambliss all had two ace serves as Regina finished with seven as a team.
Abby Knoop had 11 kills and 19 digs to lead the West Branch attack.
Claire Bridges had nine kills and Sophie Nopoulos had five kills in the loss.
Riley Vaughn had four ace serves and 17 assists while DaLana Kron collected 15 digs.
