Regina Has Three Champions at Pekin Invitational

Regina had three individual champions and finished third as a team at the Pekin Invitational on Saturday.

Jared Brinkman, Mason Simpson and Nick Milder all won titles as Regina finished with 128 points.

Albia won the team title with 206 points followed by Moravia with 147 points.

Top-ranked Brinkman was dominant on his way to the 285-pound title, recording three pins all in less than a minute including a 59 second fall over Coy Maher of Riverside in the title match.

Simpson won three straight matches by fall to claim the 182-pound crown, pinning Albia’s Ben Mason in 5:18 in the championship.

Milder pinned his way to the 170-pound title, completing a 3-0 performance with a pin of Andrew Martinez of Cardinal in 1:09.

Scott Blondin added a runner-up finish at 126 pounds while Rowan Udell (195) and Russell Hingst (220) each added third place finishes.
